Kids love to have some place which is a place where an adult will not intrude and they can play on their own. The playhouse is what the kids imagine it to be in that particular time. It can become a ship, or an aircraft, or a cave it all depends on what the kids playing in it want it to be. A kid’s playhouse can be in the main house or it can be outdoors. If it’s in the house then it would probably be in the kid’s room. Younger children have a fascination for playhouses. They feel that this is their independent place in which they cannot be disturbed. They may store their favorite toys or books in it or just use it as a play area. If the playhouse is to be outside the house then of course one would want to get a sturdier structure as it would have to bear up to the weather also. If one is living in an apartment then of course one is stuck for space and the playhouse would have to be in the apartment. But if there is a yard then the children’s playhouse could be outside the house.

The playhouse could have a playpen around it so when younger kids are placed in it one has peace of mind that the child will not wander off and get into trouble. If there are girls then the playhouse becomes a doll house and the dolls tea parties would be held in it.

The simplest would have colorful walls with various types of motifs on it and may have a door from which a child can go in and out. The fancier playhouse may have some windows to it. The matter of choosing a design is really rather difficult. A playhouse could be like a fairy castle or a space ship and virtually anything in between.

Children’s playhouses are colorful and bright and children do love to play in them or around them. It becomes the central place for them to play and let their imagination flow with them. Depending on the child’s mood the same playhouse which was a ship yesterday would be a space ship today.

Children also love to decorate the playhouse as they want to and favorite cartoon characters poster and whatever else fascinates the child will find its way into the playhouse. Like adults buy and decorate houses according to their taste the same also happens with children’s playhouses.
