Children's Treehouses

As children who has not had the urge to climb a tree and if a child comes across a tree that they think they can climb they are going to try and climb it. Sitting on a branch and swinging from a branch is a past time that any child will love to indulge in. If children can find a suitable tree in the neighborhood that they can climb and play on. That tree is going to have a large population of the neighborhood kids spending hours playing on the tree or in its vicinity. Trying to build a kids tree house is a very exciting proposition for kids and they are lots of discussion and consultations that will take place among them. Building a kid’s tree house could be as simple as hauling some planks or even a single plank and laying it across two branches. At the other extreme it could be quite an elaborate structure and one in which one could live for a while.

Now building a tree house for kids is an exciting proposition and the parents will eventually have to help out in this type of a project. Examining the tree on which the tree house is to be built would be the first step. This is an adult’s job as kids are going to be so excited about building the tree house that things like termite infected branches would not bother them. Also as the tree house is going to require a handyman who is a carpenter building a tree house for kids is not a child’s job.

First the tree has to be selected and this should not be too difficult as the kids would have already chosen a tree. The only examination required would be that the tree is healthy and strong. Next is how simple or complex does one want the tree house to be.

It could just be a platform on which the kids hangout or could have a roof on it. Of course the material for the tree house would have to be wood as wood would blend in with the tree. Now after selecting the type and size of the tree house the branches on which the frame of the tree house will get its foundation bolted or screwed will be selected and the distances measured. After which the required lumber needs to be purchased, cut and the tree house built. Some sort of plan would have to be drawn up before starting the construction and discussing it becomes a great bonding factor with the kids. During building the kid’s tree house are all going to pitch in and in this the kids will also learn something about team work and a bit about carpentry.
